The DS3231 clock module is equipped with a TCXO and an integrated crystal, making it a low-cost, high-precision real-time clock. The device is powered by a battery input, so if the main power supply is disconnected, the module will continue to operate and display the correct time. The integrated oscillator ensures the accuracy of the device and reduces the number of components. This module features a commercial and industrial temperature range and a small-profile (300 mil) 16-pin package. The device can adapt to both 3.3V and 5V systems without any level switches.
