Performing basic motor skills to explore and master portable devices allows children to explore the relationship between their bodies and objects in space, using their hands and feet as well as other parts of their bodies. Children should then have the opportunity to improve these skills by making different modifications to familiar elements or reinventing other ways of using materials.
