Alternating flashing model, when the 4.5 V battery is connected to the circuit, the two lamps light up intermittently. Supplied without batteries.

When a 4.5 V voltage source is connected, the lamps turn on and off intermittently and alternately with each other. Suppose the first transistor BC 548/547 is blocked and the other one is in transition. The first electrolytic capacitor is then charged to a voltage of 3.8 V. If the first transistor passes, the voltage at the collector drops to 0.2 V. At this point, the capacitor is charged and at the base of the second transistor there is a voltage of 3.1 V, therefore blocked; this allows the second capacitor to charge to 3.8 V. Through the 6.3 kOhm resistor, the voltage at the base slowly increases to 0.7 V, which makes the transistor pass, and the cycle repeats. again.
