The MPU-6050 is the first 9-axis motion sensing device that combines a 3-axis MEMS gyroscope, a 3-axis accelerometer, and a digital motion processor.

With its dedicated I2C sensor, this module receives signal from a 3-axis compass, thus completing the 9-axis output.

On the other hand, the MPU-6050 was also developed to work with non-inertial sensors, such as pressure sensors.

Thus, this module has 3 16-Bit analog-to-digital converters and 3 16-Bit ADCs to digitize the gyroscope and accelerometer outputs.

To enable the detection of "fast" or "slow" motion, the components allow the gyroscope to be programmed in several different scales such as ±250, ±500, ±1000 and ±2000º per second. In addition, the accelerometer is programmable in the same way in scales of ±2g, ±4g, ±8g and ±16g.
